Thematic Mapping
Coverpoint has been analysing and working with data from a geographic
perspective since 1999. We understand the economic demands of business, which
necessitate an array of tools to be used in the maintenance and improvement of
profitability.
As the amount of business data increases, a clearer, quicker way of interpreting
this data is needed. Coverpoint is confident that its new Thematic Mapping
service will prove to be an important addition to any organisation.
Thematic mapping translates data into a shaded area map; providing a visual
comparison of the data within geographic borders (eg. UK Regions, Shire
Counties, Unitary Authorities, London Boroughs, Postcode Areas, Districts &
Sectors).
Data is displayed as darker or lighter colours on a sliding scale of values.
Where appropriate, bar and pie charts can be overlaid, increasing the overall
analysis.
The data may already be held within the organisation, or it may be taken from an
in-store/branch/online survey. In all cases the actual name or address is not
required, only the county/postcode is necessary, therefore guaranteeing
anonymity.
The analysis can be as comprehensive as the client needs; from simple location
to a more selective analysis of
memberships/questionnaires/services/sales/products etc.
Where relevant, the data can be used in conjunction with a variety of
demographic data freely available from Coverpoint.
Presented in a clear, easily understood format a thematic map will make an
immediate impact, highlighting previously unknown location characteristics,
identifying new trends and opportunities, thereby enabling informed business
decisions.
Available as an Adobe PDF, JPEG or PowerPoint presentation, formats that can be
shared, viewed or downloaded from a website by all interested parties.
